Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
CineLog helps users track movies and shows, maintain a personal library, and share activity inside hubs. This Privacy Policy explains what information CineLog collects, how it is used, and the choices available to users.
Information We Collect
CineLog may collect the following information when you use the app or website:
- Account information, including your email address, username, password authentication data, and profile picture.
- Library information, including movies, shows, ratings, watch status, notes, dates, recommendations, and favorites.
- Hub activity, including posts, comments, hub memberships, and activity shared with other hub members.
- Uploaded media, such as gallery images or profile pictures you choose to upload.
- Device push notification tokens if you enable notifications in the iOS app.
- Basic technical information needed to operate the service, such as authentication sessions and request logs.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide account login, email verification, and account management.
- Save and display your CineLog library, stats, profile, hubs, posts, comments, and recommendations.
- Sync your data across the website and iOS app.
- Send hub activity notifications when enabled.

Sharing and Visibility
Your personal library is associated with your account. Content posted to hubs, hub memberships, comments, and shared recommendations may be visible to other members of those hubs. CineLog does not sell your personal information.
Third-Party Services
CineLog uses third-party services to operate the app:
- Supabase for authentication, database storage, file storage, and backend functions.
- Vercel for website hosting.
- The Movie Database (TMDB) API for movie and TV metadata, including titles and posters.
- Apple Push Notification service for iOS notifications when enabled.
These services may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
Images and Uploads
Images you upload, such as gallery images or profile pictures, may be compressed and stored so they can be shown in CineLog. Movie and TV posters are typically loaded from TMDB rather than uploaded by you.
Data Retention and Account Deletion
CineLog keeps account and library information while your account is active. You may delete your account from the settings page. Account deletion is intended to remove your account, profile, personal entries, uploaded media, and related account data, subject to any required security, backup, or operational retention.

- You can edit your username, password, and profile picture from settings.
- You can choose what to post to hubs.
- You can disable notifications in iOS system settings.
- You can delete your account from CineLog settings.
